Program Coordinator for Mindfulness Programs, Kerri Eness-Potter teaches MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) and leads mindfulness graduate groups at UIHC. She is also the instructor for mindfulness-based academic courses on the UI campus, and serves as the advisor to the UI student group, Mindful@Iowa. Kerri has trained with Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli through The Center for Mindfulness (CFM) at The University of Massachusetts Medical School, and has completed the CFM’s Teacher Development Intensive, and Supervision with Senior Faculty. She has a personal practice of mindfulness meditation and yoga, and regularly participates in extended silent retreats. Before beginning to teach mindfulness in 2011, Kerri was a teacher in the Iowa City Schools for 18 years. Her daughter, husband, and dog are some of her most important teachers!
